IN NIGERIA, DIFFERENT ISSUES e.g RELIGIOUS ISSUES, POLITICAL ISSUES, etc SPRING UP FROM TIME TO TIME AND THESE UPHEAVALS? CAN IMPACT ON PREVIOUS PLANNING. this is what happened, if my memory serves correctly, as some groups came up just before the competition proper and said that they would disrupt the event if it holds in Abuja because the event was against their religious beliefs. according to media reports of that period, Mr. Ben Bruce tried to get the venue shifted from Abuja to any other acceptable city in Nigeria BUT THE MISS WORLD ORGANISATION FOLKS INSISTED THAT IT MUST ALWAYS BE HELD IN THE CAPITAL OF THE COUNTRY. folks who followed reports pertaining to the event on NTA ( Nigerian Television Authority ) at the time will remember that Mr. Ben Bruce had infact incorporated location outside Abuja e.g CALABAR / CROSS RIVERS STATE into the filming of locations that projected a very positive image of Nigeria during the event. in fact, according to rumours the event was SOLD OUT but when rumours spread that some groups were about to attack the event physically it was relocated at virtually the last minute to London? or so. THE KEY THING IS THIS ➡️ based on that experience Mr. Ben Bruce should endeavour that the event rules DO NOT STRAITJACKET HIM to the capital of Nigeria alone and that he has the room to maneuvre in terms of choice of event location so that for example he can use PORT HARCOURT or CALABAR or LAGOS or ANY WHERE HE WISHES as the site of the event (GO TO 2️⃣ )
