when they say that

for them ( i.e the Nigeria Electricity Discos )
to distribute to
and
install on/in/at
every building in Nigeria linked to the nation-wide electricity grid ?

█ if these reports are true
then why are the Nigeria Electricity Distributing Companies
( i.e the so-called Nigeria Electricity Discos )
not going about with high vigour and high alacrity and high visibility
distributing and installing pre-paid meters
on/in/at every building in Nigeria linked to the nation-wide electricity grid ?

.. even when some folks have actually already made payments to
the Nigeria Electricity Distributing Companies ( Nigeria Discos )
… sometimes for several months …
… and in some instances for several years …
with a view to purchasing the new pre-paid meters from the Electricity Discos ?

the issue of trying to make sure that one has one of the new pre-paid meters installed in his/her building

.. whether the building is an office or a residence ..
.. whether the building is a business premises or a trading premises or a factory ..
.. whether the occupier of the building either male or female is the owner of the building or a tenant ..

is an issue that goes beyond the dynamics of
just simply doing the right thing
by making sure that one has a meter for billing purposes
in his/her office and/or residence

since it is an issue that has
significant direct and collateral financial / economic impact

given the reality here in Nigeria that

► all over Nigeria, the Electricity Discos in Nigeria give estimated bills to buildings that do not have the new model pre-paid meters

► even when the building has an old-type meter that
is functioning, working and in good order,
the Electricity Discos in Nigeria discountenance
that old-model meter and it’s reading(s)
and go ahead
unilaterally and arbitrarily to
issue estimated bills to that electricity user
and
if such a user refuses to pay the estimated bill on the grounds that
the old meter / old-model electricity meter in his/her building
is working very well and so
he/she is going to pay his/her based on the reading of that old-model meter
he/she is cut-off that from the electricity grid by the Electricity Discos.

► the estimated bills are often very high

► the estimated bills are arbitrary in nature
not being based on any discernible scientific procedures
known to mankind, science, technology and humanity worldwide

► the Electricity Discos hold all the aces
and use? this reality to
bully? oppress? suppress? terrorize? frighten?, coerce?
the people into submission

as they – the Electricity Discos – distribute all of the electricity generated in Nigeria
and
the people need this electricity
● for comfort in their homes
● in their offices
● to run the equipment that they need for their businesses / work / trade e.g machines, air-conditioners, computers, telephones, manufacturing equipment, etc
● to run the equipment in their homes like ceiling fans, wall fans,
standing fans, television sets, radios, washing machines, air-conditioners, lap-tops, mobile phones, android phones, etc

and
if and/or when
they – the people – are cut-off from the electricity grid

they – the people – find the cost of producing electricity for themselves via running and maintaining generators / electricity generating sets
for long periods running into weeks and months and years
so very high and so un-sustainable
that they are forced to go back to the electricity grid
at whatever terms the operators of the electricity grid
i.e the Electricity Discos
dictate? for example, in and via their high, estimated bills.  

and so, Irene the Dream nnkeh nm, the people find themselves in a conundrum.

the conundrum being basically that :  

◙ they-the people need electricity and they find from hard, financially-expensive personal experience that
they can not continously and continually
generate electricity by themselves for themselves
via their generators / electricity power generator sets
at a sustainable/sustenable  affordable cost
for long periods running into weeks and months and years.  

◙ the powers-that-be that distribute the electricity generated in Nigeria
give them i.e give the people high, arbitrary estimated bills
when they-the people do not have the new-model pre-paid meters
.. even if they-the people have the old-type meters that are still working fine in their buildings.

◙ if they-the people protest? that the estimated bills are too high
and so
in protest? and in an attempt to fight for their rights???
they do not pay the high estimated bills,
they are cut-off from electricity supply.  

and so, Irene nnmaah nm, the people ask themselves
.. in depression ? ..
.. in this catch-22 situation ..

what can we do ?

and so,
cowed?, terrorized?, oppressed?, bullied? and defeated?
by the workings of things in their own country Nigeria
the people i.e everyday, ordinary, normal Nigeria citizens
and
other Nigeria residents
suffering this situation and reality
see the only way out as being to get one of the new-model pre-paid meters installed in/at their building.

and so the everyday, ordinary, normal Nigeria citizens
and
other Nigeria residents
suffering this situation and reality
more or less

find themselves strangulated?
and asphyxiated? and knee-neck-choked ?

in this their real situation

whenever they apply for these meters
.. and sometimes actually make payments for the pre-paid meters ..
and then find thereafter that
for several months on end
.. sometimes for many years i.e
for more than 1 year, for more than 2 years ..
.. sometimes for several years i.e for more than 3 years ..
they are no closer to getting a pre-paid meter than they were before they went to apply for one

and so in frustration?
..  in a feeling of being victims of oppression? ..
.. in a worried, frightened and terrorized? state ..
in their own country Nigeria

everyday, ordinary, normal Nigeria citizens

other Nigeria residents )
suffering this situation and reality

rumour and wonder that
