in a world where
there is so much
chicanery,
duplicity,
mendacity and
prejudice
it is my personal view and my considered opinion
.. which is not necessarily right or absolute ..
that
it is difficult to see
many ratings or assessments that are
based on pure merit
and
it is also difficult to see
many ratings / assessments in which
the personal individual biases of the members of the judging panel
do not affect
.. in one way or the other ..
the final results.
perhaps it is just human nature on display.
given this perception,
one may to able to understand my view
that
if perchance
one sees a rating(s) / assessment(s) mechanism of which
it is empirically demonstrable that
there is no bias component
then
there is much to celebrate
in such an assessment(s) mechanism/ rating(s) mechanism
that does not have any input of prejudice or bias
.. be it national bias
i.e
bias in favour of candidates from one’s own country
or
.. be it race bias
i.e
bias in favour of candidates of one’s own race
or
.. be it ethnicity bias
i.e
bias in favour of candidates of one’s own ethnicity.
please permit me
.. and also humour me ..
to indulge in my worry that
such ratings/assessments mechanisms are very rare to come by.
going forwards,
it is my deliberated view that
the human congregration at a national level
is invariably a political assembly
and
whether it is
capitalism
or
communism
or
socialism
or
marxism,
etc
the bottom line
is that
it is difficult
.. if not virtually impossible ..
to find
any national human congregration administrative entity that
does not have
a political leaning
be it
monarchy,
democracy or
martial rule.
therefore,
since whole entities are invariably composed of constituent sub-units,
it will,
by extension of the logic,
be difficult to see
human groupings of lesser scale than the/a nationwide national administration that
are not impacted on by
the political component of human nature
as reflected in
the individual political thinking of it’s component members
ranging
from
free thinking
and
equality for all
to
extreme bias
and
“the-goodies-are-only-for-our-very-own” mentality.
given this my personal view of
the creatures referred to as homo sapiens
and their activities
one may perhaps understand why
i experience no excitement to hear that
awards are being given out by some panel wherever
no matter how elite or obscure.
if SERENA WILLIAMS wins the US Open
and
is given the US Open Women’s Singles Title
that i can understand
as she overcame all challenges on court
.. and off court ..
to win the title
OPENLY
IN FRONT OF A VIEWING PUBLIC
Ditto for example
if
CARL LEWIS wins a sprints title
however to tell me that some entity somewhere
is doing
closed?-door? rating
the parameters and results of which
will be made available thereafter
and
moderated? by on-line voting results
from an international public
in a world
■ where
there is un-rest? in some nations
e.g
█ Ukraine ?,
█ part(s)? of the Congo?
with the resultant effect that
they may contribute little amounts or no amount of
internet voting
as
they are probably more concerned with
issues of daily survival
( e.g as in locations embroiled in war )
than with
contributing votes on-line in regards of
football sports entertainment

internet access
( which is a prerequisite for online voting )
is a luxury for many persons

ordinarily i would not post a comment on/at/to a social media page of a footballer who gets a yellow card or red card in a match because no living human being is perfect and we all make mistakes or do things that are not 100% correct / right / justified / justifiable from time to time
and
really one aspect of life is learning from mistakes and moving on positively.
however,
there have been reports on social media here in Nigeria, Western Africa, Africa that following the event in the R-16 match between Nigeria and England at the on-going FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 involving you and Nigeria’s ⚽️???? Michelle Alozie you have turned off the comments section of your social media page.
at a guess,
which guess may be wrong or correct,
while it is the prerogative of any social media user to turn off the comments section on her/his page if/when she/he so wishes and if she/he knows how to do so
it would seem likely that you turned off the comments section because? you received or were receiving many comments you didn’t like in relation to your conduct on the field of play for which you were penalised with a red card.
first, let me say that that conduct was wrong. and also should not have come from a Champion Footballer such as yourself.
also, let me add that if that action had been done by a full aryan or a full asian or a full arab allegations of racism and racist under-handed behaviour would probably have been levelled against that person .. at least to some extent.
in my view, which is not necessarily right or correct, you got off without the racism allegations because you look like genealogically you have a biological linkage to the negro race just like Michelle Alozie does so in a way it’s really black? on black?
then let me go on and say that it would sometimes seem that persons linkable to the negro race have sometimes been treated more harshly than persons of other races for the same offence or similar offence
e.g ???????? Marion Jones got severe punishment for an offence for which a biker identified for the same offence or a similar offence got little or no punishment at all.
and it is an unproven guess that if it were a caucasian player that had done the same conduct as you that player may not have gotten a card at all .. either yellow or red .. ???
and
may not have received a barrage of comments related to the incident that are/were so heavy in volume and of a nature to make her turn off the comments section of her social media page.
to conclude, Lauren, you are looked up to here in Negroland Africa with much admiration, much respect and much pride
and many here in Negroland Africa were shocked to see such a conduct from someone who they had assumed .. perhaps wrongly .. would instinctively naturally act in support and in defence of the global Negro, Black, African, Caribbean, Pacific and Linked Diaspora at justifiable instance to do so
however,
to err is human

while to forgive is divine

what is really important is that if one makes a mistake and is lucky to be presented with the opportunity to understand that she/he has made a mistake or done something that is regarded as wrong even if that sort of behaviour is a standard customary behaviour in the part of the world where she/he operates
