Elizabeth Cambage via Liz Cambage basketball : Respects and Greetings, Liz.
usually,
i generally stay in my own lane
and
i generally avoid taking a stand on issues that i don’t have much detail about.
however :
■ there are a number of videos up on the internet pertaining to
the issue of an altercation
■as at today March 11?, 2024
the altercation incident
may be described as
something that happened in the past? days
in any case,
as for altercations between and among athletes on the field of play,
there will always be altercations
.. especially in team sports events
e.g
football or basketball ..
which is probably why there are referees to maintain order on the field of play.
moving forwards,
it may be helpful for me to indicate,
very clearly,
that
■ i am not here to judge
who was right or wrong.
however,
i will say that
given
your champion status and related visibility
.. internationally ..
you will probably be much better off regarding avoiding negative news
about yourself
if you don’t do stuff on the field of play that
can give folks the opportunity to make negative comments about you
■ going by a video i saw on the internet showing
you trying out Nigeria Eguisi Soup and Fufu
.. or was that Pounded Yam ..
and in which
you mentioned to the Chef in the video
that
■ you are half-Nigerian
■ your mother is white
■ your father is Nigerian
i guess you should know that
Nigeria International athletes
are
a very tough breed of folks who have overcome extreme odds
to emerge as top athletes internationally.
this is particularly true of
athletes who have emerged from within Nigeria
.. against ALL odds ..
to rise to international appreciation.
i need not mention the challenges a
“full Nigerian biological heritage” athlete
or
“half Nigerian biological heritage” athlete
generally seems to face in
Europe,
USA,
Australia,
etc
which often necessitates that
they have to be better than the very best of the Caucasians from those countries
in the same sports events
just to get by ordinarily.
what i am trying to say here is that :
to survive,
Nigerians fight hard
and
they will fight to survive a perceived unfair action directed at them
and
they will hit back at the perceived source of that unfair action
.. if and whenever they can

for some reason
the altercation between
you
.. a Nigerian
.. and one of the International Champions of and from Nigeria
— any which way one looks at it —
and
a Nigeria Sports Team
reminds me of
rumours
of altercation
on the field of play
back in the day
in the 1970s
between the footballer
CHRISTIAN MADU
■ who was born? in GHANA
■ who grew up in GHANA
■who was given the honour and privilege to play
in and for GHANA teams
and
to represent GHANA teams in International Sports Events
because of his high talent in the football game
and
a Nigerian football team
in a competitive match
during which CHRISTIAN MADU
played brilliantly
and
fought very hard for his GHANA TEAM to win.
according to rumours,
a star Nigeria player STANLEY OKORONKWO
was involved in a tussle or altercation with CHRISTAIN MADU
and got a SHOCK OF HIS LIFE
when CHRISTIAN MADU who was on the floor
following the altercation said to him
in the Igbo / Ibo / Eegboe / Eeboe tribe language :
Nwannem, ogini kam me iji kwatuem ?
which translates in English as :
Child of my mother i.e My Brother, what did i do that caused you to push me down ?
Liz, these are rumours.
however,
CHRISTIAN MADU was
genealogically
a Nigerian of the Igbo / Ibo tribe
whose trajectory in life
saw him playing football for GHANA football teams
( i am not sure if
it was
ACCRA HEARTS OF OAK
or so
that he played for )
and
STANLEY OKORONKWO
was
genealogically a Nigerian of the Igbo / Ibo tribe
whose trajectory in life
saw him playing football for NIGERIA football teams
( i am not sure if
it was
RANGERS INTERNATIONAL OF ENUGU
or so
that he played for )
and two of them
( .. and maybe other players .. )
had altercation
while playing for the teams they were representing.
i guess you get the point, Liz
i hope members of D’Tigress also get the point
and display the good and powerful side of the Nigeria Spirit
pertaining to the altercation
