rumours
that

at a point in time in world history,

the Bantu language
was spoken across all Negroland Africa
i.e
across West Africa,
across East Africa,
across Central Africa,
across Southern Africa

and

understood by all. 





if this is true
it means
that

at a/that point in time
in world history,

the Bantu language was
in fact
the LINGUA FRANCA OF/FOR NEGROLAND AFRICA
as
it was spoken and understood across all Negroland Africa
i.e
West Africa,
East Africa,
Central Africa,
Southern Africa

during
that (those) era(s) in/of World History. 





and
it also suggests
that

achieving a native Negroland Africa lingua franca language
is
not
an absolute impossibility
.. especially as
Negroland Africa had had a lingua franca ( the Bantu language )
several generations ago. 





as far as i can see it,
Segos Segos Pumpkin a.k.a Resego Tshabadira nm,
a pragmatic approach
may probably be
to :

(1) first achieve regional lingua franca
i.e
to first 
achieve a lingua franca for West Africa,
achieve a lingua franca for East Africa,
achieve a lingua franca for Central Africa,
achieve a lingua franca for Southern Africa, 





(2) thereafter,
if possible,
merge,
as practical reality and common sense advises,
geographically contigous regions into
speaking one agreed language as a lingua franca
.. by this i mean
for example
that

East Africa and Central Africa may agree
on a language
and
adopt it as lingua franca
across both economic regions. 





(3) if this is achieved,
the lingua franca adopted
across both
East Africa and Central Africa

can be extended to
Southern Africa.

this will mean
that
3 out of 4 socio-economic regions in Negroland Africa
i.e
Central Africa, East Africa and Southern Africa
will now have
a common Negroland Africa native language
as mutually agreed lingua franca 





(4) this accepted lingua franca language
can then
be adopted across West Africa.

if this is successful
it will mean
that

4 out of 4 socio-economic regions in Negroland Africa
i.e
West Africa, East Africa, Central Africa and Southern Africa
will now have
a common Negroland Africa native language
as mutually agreed lingua franca 





the idea,
as a theoretical concept,
sounds just fine

and
moving further along,
theoretically,
one may suggest
that 


(5) the Hausa language
could be adopted as a lingua franca for West Africa
as
the Hausa language is spoken across vast stretches of West Africa 


(6) the Swahili language
could be adopted as a lingua franca for East Africa
.. and possibly also Central Africa and Southern Africa ..
as
— according to rumours —
the Swahili language is spoken across vast territories in East Africa, Central Africa and Southern Africa 


as noted earlier,
this view is essentially a theoretical view

and
there are practical challenges to it’s practical implementation.





one thing
that

any advocates for a regional lingua franca
will need to
assure folks

is that

the adoption of a native Negroland Africa language
other than their own native Negro language

as

the language of administration,
the language of business,
the language of commerce,
the language of communication

among Negrolanders in their economic region
( – – whether West Africa, East Africa, Central Africa Southern Africa – – )
does not mean

a relegation of their own native language





to

a secondary status
or
an inferior status

and
nor is it an attempt to
obliterate / wipe out their own native language over time.





they will need to
be assured
that

they are encouraged to
continue speaking their own native language among
their current and future generations
.. as they have always done
historically and presently ..





and
that

the objective is
for them

to learn an additional Negroland Africa language
with which
they can communicate with other Negrolanders
instead of
always relying on


West Europe’s
French,
Portuguese,
Spanish,
English,
etc
.. or the Holland/Netherlands/Dutch derived afrikaans ..

in order to do so. 





they will also probably need to
be assured
– – and re-assured – –
that

the venture
is not

some sort of

surreptitious maneuvre
or
clandestine strategy

aimed at or designed to
confer

some sort of ascendancy

.. whether
inferred ascendancy,
implied ascendancy,
indirect ascendancy,
direct ascendancy,
overt ascendancy
or
any sort of ascendancy whatsoever ..

to some other folks’ native Negroland Africa language
over
their own native Negroland Africa language

either in the
short term
or
medium term
or
long term.





very clearly,
Segos Segos Pumpkin a.k.a Resego Tshabadira nnmah nm ( nma nm ),
if

the Negroland Africa peoples of any socio-economic region of Negroland Africa
.. and of any country in any given socio-economic region of Negroland Africa ..

for some reason
do not like

the people whose language has been suggested
as a lingua franca

and/or perceive that
the people whose language has been suggested as a lingua franca have
not comported themselves well over the centuries

and/or have not
from their interactions with other folks
marketed themselves well enough
or
laundered / cleaned up their image well enough
for

their language to be adopted in the entire sub-region of Negroland Africa
as
the Negroland Africa native language of general communication

they are going to resist
.. and probably resist very strongly ..
the adoption of that language as
a regional Negroland Africa native language lingua franca.

i guess that

one can imagine that
if because

either the Hausa language or the Fulani language
is spoken over vast territories in West Africa

[ .. rumours
in fact rumour that
the Fulani language is spoken in the Congo, Central Africa
and that
there was an involvement of Fulani language speaking folks in governance in the Congo
before the outbreak of the Congo Wars .. ]

Hausa or Fulani ( Fulfude )
is suggested as

a regional language

to be taught to and learned by

all pupils
in all primary schools and secondary schools in Nigeria,
for example,

for the purpose of
the children speaking it
as a regional Negroland Africa language
presently and going into the foreseeable future,

some peoples in Nigeria,
for example,

may have something to say
about that suggestion or choice

e.g
the Yoruba peoples,
the Igbo / Ibo peoples,
the Idoma peoples,
the Igala peoples,
the Tiv peoples,
the Jukun peoples,
the Bini peoples,
the Itshekiri peoples,
the Urhobo peoples,
the Ibibio peoples,
the Annang peoples,
the Efik peoples,
the Ijaw peoples ( the Izon peoples ),
the Kalabari peoples,
etc,
etc,
etc 





so
if you are going to put in place a lingua franca

and
do it differently from the way the West Europe folks are rumoured to have done

( .. they are rumoured to have
brutually killed
or
severely physically tortured
every / any Negroland Africa native who refused or declined or hesitated to
learn
French
or
English
or
Portuguese
or
Spanish
or
Dutch
or
German
or
Italian
according to i.e in linkage to
the language of the West Europe folks who conquered / dominated / ruled that area .. )

you are going to have to try and carry folks along
and
get them to arrive at a consensus

on which language
everyone in their region should adopt, speak and use as
the regional Negroland Africa native language lingua franca.

if you are realistic about the endeavour
and
you factor in stuff i.e realities like

ethnic pride,
tribe pride,
language pride,
superiority complex,
inferiority complex,
etc,

it will be clear that
getting all the people or an identifiable majority to agree on a consensus choice
will need wisdom. 


if you further factor in
negatives like

outright mischievousness ..
deliberate mischief ..
vested interests ..
groups with vested interests ..

into the equation
you will see that

clearly
the effort will require

folks who have a strong capability to understand human nature
and
folks who can use their understanding of the nature of the human being
( – – whether good nature or bad nature or both – – )
to achieve their target objective
.. being in this instance
the achievement of the acceptance of only one mutually agreed native Negroland Africa language
as
the native Negroland Africa lingua franca language for all Negroland Africa.

there is
.. for the sake of the argument ..
actually
already

a “virtual lingua franca” language
in Nigeria
and AngloPhone Africa i.e English Language speaking Africa

which can probably be consolidated as some sort of “interim short gap lingua franca” language.

this language
which has
wide usage and general acceptance is
the Pidgin English language





and is

essentially a variant of the English Language
developed
among the Negroland Africa natives of AngloPhone Africa territories/countries

and is
of particular value in communicating with
the not-so-well-lettered AngloPhone Negroland Africa natives
of
diverse tribes, communities and countries.





the argument against is use
is that
it is
a variant or mutation of the West Europe English Language

and so
it’s adoption as a lingua franca
still does not resolve the quest/search for

a genuine Negroland Africa native language
that can
serve or function as
a continental lingua franca
or
at least across Negroland Africa
which constitutes the main component
.. at least 80% ..
of Africa / the Africa Continent.
