when in 2024 the information began to appear on the internet and other information dissemination forums here in Nigeria e.g the TV ( Television ), etc
that
there is i.e ( there was .. as at then )
a Nigeria lady who was contesting for the 2024 Miss Universe South Africa Beauty Pageant Title
being held in the Republic of South Africa, Southern Africa, Africa
and that
she is ( was ? .. as at the time )
a meritorious contender for the top slot
and that
negativity
much negativity
severe negativity
was being directed at her
because she is of Nigeria genealogy
it gave me much reason to ponder.
FIRST, i wondered if there is an EXISTING RULE and/or ABIDING RULE that ONLY CITIZENS OF THE COUNTRY HOSTING IT’S VERSION of the MISS UNIVERSE PAGEANT can contest for that pageant ?
as this would mean for purposes of explanatory example
that if there is
a MISS UNIVERSE BOTSWANA BEAUTY PAGEANT then only female holders of BOTSWANA CITIZENSHIP can participate in that pageant
or
a MISS UNIVERSE GHANA BEAUTY PAGEANT then only female holders of GHANA CITIZENSHIP can participate in that pageant
or
a MISS UNIVERSE UGANDA BEAUTY PAGEANT then only female holders of UGANDA CITIZENSHIP can participate in that pageant
or
a MISS UNIVERSE IVORY COAST BEAUTY PAGEANT then only female holders of IVORY COAST CITIZENSHIP can participate in that pageant
SECONDLY, i wondered if she was ignorant of this RULE or POLICY if such a RULE or POLICY existed
THIRDLY, i wondered if perhaps she had been born in the Republic of South Africa and had acquired a birth right citizenship for the Republic of South Africa
or
had lived there for a fair number of years and had acquired a South Africa citizenship in that period
and on the strength of either or both perceived ( wrongly ? ) that she met the eligibility criteria regarding CITIZENSHIP as it pertains / pertained to the 2024 MISS UNIVERSE SOUTH AFRICA BEAUTY PAGEANT
this area wasn’t very clear to me.
what was however very clear to me was the negativity directed against her in the content of some of the stuff pertaining to the 2024 MISS UNIVERSE SOUTH AFRICA that i ran into on the internet.
the negativity seemed to me to physically practically reflect some concepts e.g

THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS

in the sense that
CAPABILITY FOR VIOLENCE

the circumstance(s)
to DICTATE

therefore in this instance
being OUTNUMBERED by the antagonists they put the SHEER STRENGTH OF NUMBERS TO VICIOUS USE in the OVERWHELMING MULTIPLICITY of their negative comments on SOCIAL MEDIA, MAINSTREAM MEDIA, etc
THE END JUSTIFIES THE MEANS
in the sense that
the OTHER COMPETITORS and? their SPONSORS? want to win the competition and if the CITIZENSHIP FACTOR can eliminate a strong NON REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA CITIZEN competitor then it is alright to put it into play and eliminate someone who could otherwise ordinarily win the competition if not eliminated one way or the other.
YOU USE WHAT YOU HAVE TO GET WHAT YOU WANT
again in the sense that
the OTHER COMPETITORS and? their SPONSORS? want to win the competition and being aware that they have an ELIMINATOR OF NON CITIZENS FROM THE COMPETITION IN THE CITIZENSHIP RULE then since they have the ADVANTAGE / WEAPON of the CITIZENSHIP FACTOR which can eliminate a strong NON REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA CITIZEN competitor then it is alright to put it into play and eliminate someone who could otherwise ordinarily win the competition if not eliminated one way or the other.
EVENTUALLY, MISS CHIDIMMA ADETSHINA PULLED OUT OF THE 2024 MISS UNIVERSE SOUTH AFRICA BEAUTY PAGEANT
as unfolding events would have it :
(1) SHE WAS INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 2024 MISS UNIVERSE NIGERIA BEAUTY PAGEANT
(2) SHE WON THE 2024 MISS UNIVERSE NIGERIA BEAUTY PAGEANT CROWN AND TITLE
(3) SHE PARTICIPATED IN THE GLOBAL WORLDWIDE 2024 MISS UNIVERSE COMPETITION
(4) SHE WON SECOND PLACE

SHE WAS THE FIRST RUNNER UP

SHE WAS THE FINALIST

SHE CAME SECOND
(5) AT THAT GLOBAL WORLDWIDE 2024 MISS UNIVERSE COMPETITION SHE WON THE HIGHLY HONOURABLE TITLE AND CROWN OF 2024 MISS UNIVERSE AFRICA AND OCEANIA
i will not make comments here and i will just say that i heard some folks say in regards to her travails and triumphs that NO MATTER HOW WICKED AN OPPRESSOR IS GOD CAN USE PEOPLE AND/OR ENTITIES TO HELP THE PERSON THAT IS BEING OPPRESSED
i will leave it at that for now.
moving on from there to the central subject matter of this post
i had hoped that all the negativity would have ended there.
it was therefore an UNPLEASANT OBSERVATION
to see
negative comments
again appear when she visited the REPUBLIC OF SOUTH AFRICA recently

SOMEWHAT MORE UNPLEASANTLY
her mother who had not been arrested all along ( .. going by the reports on the internet that I had seen .. )
was now arrested? shortly after.
