i really don’t know.
and i have no idea, really.
so, i guess on this one, your guess is as good as mine.

is it better to have institutions named after you AFTER YOU ARE DEAD ?
or
is it better to have institutions named AFTER YOU WHILE YOU ARE STILL ALIVE ?
or
is it better to have institutions named after BOTH WHILE YOU ARE STILL ALIVE and AFTER YOU ARE DEAD ?

should folks remember you for your worth-while efforts when you are long gone ??

Donna Summer. Hot Stuff.

should folks still continue to give to you the honour due to you after you are long gone ??

i mean,
there was a folk called HAROLD ROBBINS.

Harold Robbins's cocaine-fuelled bonkbusters sold 750 million copies — and they're far better than Fifty Shades
Harold Robbins

he was one of the greatest authors and writers of all time.
and his novels used to come in huge volumes.

funny thing about those over 1000? pages novels though.
pick up one and you won’t be able to drop it until you have read it through.

and when i say read it through,

call that name HAROLD ROBBINS now and the young folks
… ages 16? to 25? …
look at you as if you are mentioning terms from the moon.

and i case it’s not just here in NIGERIA alone.

i mentioned the name BUCHI EMECHATA to a young ibo tribe Nigeria female graduate a couple of days ago.
and she had absolutely no idea what i was on about.

this photo of BUCHI EMECHETA was sourced from the internet

she knew all about instagram, twitter, facebook, youtube, social media and all that sort of stuff
and
she actually showed me a trick or two at social media
so she is clearly a rather informed and up-to-date sort of person

some novels authored by Buchi Emecheta

but
she had never heard the name of one of the pioneer female authors / writers of her own tribe.

she had never heard of FLORA NWAPA either.

funny, that.

i mean,
those two ladies were very well known as female authors / writers in their day.

and if my memory serves correctly,
one or both of them were in fact published abroad i.e
published by a printing and publishing company located outside Nigeria.

i sort of seem to remember in connection with one or both of them
the name FONTANA BOOKS
based in the United Kingdom ( U.K ) at the time … 1970s ?

and yet today 2021
a young, brilliant female of their own tribe
has no idea of these pioneer writers from there own tribe

one of whom or both of whom
were in fact good enough then
to be published outside Nigeria and outside Africa

  1. Hello there! I could have sworn I’ve visited this web site before
but after looking at a few of the posts I realized it’s new
to me. Nonetheless, I’m definitely delighted I discovered it and I’ll be book-marking it and checking back often!

  2. Howdy! Do you know if they make any plugins to help with
Search Engine Optimization? I’m trying to get my blog to rank for some targeted keywords but
I’m not seeing very good success. If you know of any please share.
    Appreciate it!

  3. Today, I went to the beach with my children. I found a sea shell and gave
it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.”
She placed the shell to her ear and screamed. There was a hermit crab
inside and it pinched her ear. She never wants
to go back! LoL I know this is totally off topic but I had to tell someone!
