it is a fair guess

the final decision / final choice

will be highly impacted upon by the

i also guess that
whether or not a folk personally likes a person
will hugely influence
whether or not he/she avers that
that person slayed him / her most.

my native peoples – the Onitsha people of
Anambra State, Ibo-land / Igbo-land Nigeria
however have

a rather more basic and rather more fundamental view of water
which is encapsulated in
that comment made by elderly Onitsha persons sometimes
that goes some thing like :

which spells and writes
somewhat slightly differently
from OUR OWN EEBOE / EEGBOE spelling and writing

when spelt/spelled and written the way
ibo/igbo is generally written as seen below :

“ nwam, nmili bu ndu.
etu obala si bulu ndu ka nmili si bulu ndu.
otu nni si bulu ndu ka nmili si bulu ndu.
otu iku ume si bulu ndu ka nmili si bulu ndu.

ka = ka = is how .. in this usage.
sometimes, ka = that .. depending on the context of usage.
[ multi-functional word. highly adaptive word ]

ohtoo = otu = like = how = the way ( something / someone is )
aetoo = etu = like = how = the way ( something / someone is )

eee-koo-oomae = iku ume = breathing .. breathing in and out

eee-koo = iku = to carry
e.g
eee-koo nnwah = iku nwa = to carry (a) child
eee-koo nnmeelee = iku nmili = to carry i.e to fetch water

oomae = ume = energy .. strength. may sometimes mean .. power .. might.

so,
eee-koo-oomae = iku ume
probably reflects the Onitsha World-View
and
the larger Eeboe / Eboe / Eegboe / Egboe i.e Ibo / Igbo World-View
that

conceptualizes breathing as being vital to life
as that phrase
sort of seems to reflect that

living human-beings i.e human-beings who are alive
breathe in and breathe out
and in the process draw some essence of life from the air.

that’s probably what scientists have nailed down to Oxygen ( O₂ )
being in the air
and to
human-beings breathing in Oxygen

and
breathing out Carbon Di-oxide ( CO₂ ) while they are alive
and dying when the breathing process stops or is stopped.

thus it would appear that
the Onitsha World-View as reflected in the comment :

” my child, water is life.
the way blood is life is how water is life.
the way food is life is how water is life.
the way breathing is life is how water is life.

conceptualizes that

● food
● blood
● air
● water

are essential for life.
