coming at you 3? weeks late or thereabouts, Aryna Sabalenka nnmah nm,
here’s
a thoroughly heart-felt Congratulations !!!!!!!!! to you
on/for participating in the
LADIES SINGLES SEMI-FINALS MATCHES at WIMBLEDON 2021

and

also, here’s my version /adaptation of the WINNER O ! O ! O ! SONG for you :

ARYNA SABALENKA, CHAMPION O ! O ! O ! CHAMPION !!!
CHAMPION O ! O ! O ! CHAMPION !!!
CHAMPION O!  O ! O ! CHAMPION !!!
ARYNA SABALENKA, CHAMPION O ! O ! O ! CHAMPION !!!

ARYNA SABALENKA, WINNER O ! O ! O ! WINNER !!!
WINNER O ! O ! O ! WINNER !!!
WINNER O!  O ! O ! WINNER !!!
ARYNA SABALENKA, WINNER O ! O ! O ! WINNER !!!

you know, Aryna ohbee nm, i have sometimes wondered why
it is that NIGERIA does not have

any LAWN-TENNIS EVENT
i.e
any LAWN-TENNIS COMPETITION
i.e
any LAWN-TENNIS TOURNAMENT

listed on the WTA ( Women’s Tennis Association ) CIRCUIT

or for that matter

listed on the ITF ( International Tennis Federation ) TOUR

it surely can not be
a matter of lack of interest of
Nigeria residents and Nigeria citizens
in Lawn-Tennis, can it ?

i mean .. as far back as the 1970s
and
in some cases earlier than that
— going as far back in time as the 1950s and 1960s —
.. and possibly even earlier ..

there are ( and have been ) clubs
.. as in restaurant style eatery and entertainment outfits ..
here in Nigeria that
have had ( and still have )

lawn-tennis courts on their grounds / premises

and
have ( and have had ) many members
who play (or played ) good level lawn-tennis and good quality lawn-tennis

if my memory serves correctly, Aryna nnkeh nm,
ENUGU SPORTS CLUB,
for example,
which is located somewhere around Queen’s Street, Enugu, Nigeria,

has had active lawn-tennis courts as far back as 1970?
which date i can remember
since my ever fading memories of childhood years in Enugu
seem to sort vaguely recall images
of
lawn-tennis courts and a swimming pool
at
the ENUGU SPORTS CLUB circa 1970 A.D

leaving aside the fog and miasma of fading memories
from a past now somewhat relatively distant in time
and
leaving aside the fog and miasma of indistinct? memories
from a past now somewhat relatively distant in time

i do know for a fact that as far back as 1972 ?
at which time i first became conscious of them
the RAILWAY INSTITUTE

this is a screen-shot of stuff on the internet. i guess that address there is wrong since the Railway Institute is located almost opposite i.e somewhat adjacent to Okpara Road in Railway Compound, Oke-Ira, Ebute-Metta, Lagos and also memory doesn’t seem to recall a mention of any name called Old Yaba Road anywhere within the Railway Compound.

in / at
RAILWAY COMPOUND,
OKE-IRA, EBUTE-METTA, LAGOS

has always had active lawn-tennis courts
although
it never had ( and still today 2021 A.D does not have )
a swimming pool.

and there are other clubs and entities in Nigeria
e.g hotels, private individuals
that do have active lawn-tennis courts on their grounds.

it also surely can not be
a matter of lack of talent and/or ability of
Nigeria residents and Nigeria citizens
regarding Lawn-Tennis, can it ?

i mean .. despite the fact that
it i.e Lawn-Tennis is a fairly expensive past-time / hobby to indulge in
as compared for example to

football
or
the sprints
or
high jump

where all you need to do really is

get a football ( of any quality? ) and kick it around
and meander through all the other folks playing with you
without letting them take the ball away from you
and then put the ball inside the goal-post despite
the very best efforts of the goal-keeper to stop you

— in the instance of football

take off from the start-point and get to the end-point before any one else
— in the instance of the sprints

lift off from the ground and go higher than anyone else
– in the instance of high jump

to play lawn-tennis
you and your play-partner need to
own good racquets and good lawn-tennis balls
i.e to say
leave aside, for a start, the complete lawn-tennis sports kit
– tennis shoes, t-shirts, shorts and all,

.. as far back as the 1970s
the eeboe / eegboe / eboe / egboe / iboe / ebo / ibo / igbo tribe? Nigerian NDUKA ODIZOR
had been a WORLD NUMBER 27
in/at
the WORLD TENNIS CIRCUIT ( male players ).

it also surely can not be
a matter of a/the lack of financially fluid and financially wealthy entities to finance / sponsor
the Lawn-Tennis Tournament as an Open Tournament i.e as

a Competitive Lawn-Tennis Tournament
held every year i.e annually at a specific period of the year
and
open to participation by tennis players from any where in the world,
can it ?

i mean .. that tournament in DOHA, QATAR is sponsored by EXXON MOBIL
isn’t it ?

that’s why it’s called
QATAR EXXON MOBIL OPEN,
isn’t it ?

EXXON MOBIL is an oil company. isn’t it ?

and
MOBIL, MOBIL OIL, MOBIL PRODUCING, EXXON MOBIL
has been in Nigeria for ages. not so ? ( ref : Eket, Nigeria et al )

just as
SHELL PETROLEUM,
AGIP,
TOTAL,
etc

have all been in Nigeria at one time or the other
or
are still in Nigeria.

so, if for example,
EXXON MOBIL can sponsor i.e can fund an
EXXON MOBIL OPEN LAWN-TENNIS TOURNAMENT
in QATAR

why can’t
EXXON MOBIL sponsor i.e fund an
EXXON MOBIL OPEN LAWN-TENNIS TOURNAMENT
in NIGERIA

hosted annually for example in
EKET or CALABAR or PORT HARCOURT or YENAGOA ?

and if as we have seen in the example above,
EXXON MOBIL can sponsor i.e can fund an
EXXON MOBIL OPEN LAWN-TENNIS TOURNAMENT
in QATAR

why can’t

SHELL PETROLEUM
or
TOTAL
or
any of the MAJOR INTERNATIONAL OIL COMPANIES

that have been and/or are operating in NIGERIA

sponsor i.e fund an
INTERNATIONALLY OPEN LAWN-TENNIS COMPETITIVE TOURNAMENT
here in Nigeria

hosted annually for example in
EKET or CALABAR or PORT HARCOURT or YENAGOA ?

i suppose that
the development and/or putting-in-place of a
fairly active
WITHIN-NIGERIA competitive LAWN-TENNIS CIRCUIT
that runs
every year
.. without fail ..

is something that
the PRIVATE SECTOR
and
WEALTHY PRIVATE SECTOR ENTITIES including persons

will necessarily have to arrow-head
if
it is to achieve finite results
and to achieve continuously sustainable results

going by the in-efficiencies exhibited by
National Administration and States Administration of Sports in Nigeria

where, for example,
WORLD CLASS FOOTBALLERS like JAY JAY OKOCHA
have been rumoured to have had to complain
that on
many? occassions when they donned the
NIGERIA NATIONAL SPORTS JERSEY

and

gave their all for NIGERIA on the football fields
in INTERNATIONAL COMPETITIONS

the NGERIA ADMINISTRATION often times held back ???
their due allowances ???

Aryna Sabalenka ormahleechar nm,
so much for the building up of a Lawn-Tennis circuit here in Nigeria.

and moving to more mind-pleasing issues,
again,
Aryna Sabalenka nnkeh nm, :

ARYNA SABALENKA, CHAMPION O ! O ! O ! CHAMPION !!!
CHAMPION O ! O ! O ! CHAMPION !!!
CHAMPION O!  O ! O ! CHAMPION !!!
ARYNA SABALENKA, CHAMPION O ! O ! O ! CHAMPION !!!

ARYNA SABALENKA, WINNER O ! O ! O ! WINNER !!!
WINNER O ! O ! O ! WINNER !!!
WINNER O!  O ! O ! WINNER !!!
ARYNA SABALENKA, WINNER O ! O ! O ! WINNER !!!
