Rihanna nnkeh nm ohfoo sorr-sorr
( Rihanna nkem ofu soso )
the other day recently
i was talking with a lady who had just returned from a trip
to
her village
in Anambra State, Nigeria.
according to her
she had been shocked to find that
the prices of foodstuffs
like
■ GARRI
■ RICE
■ BEANS
■ ETC
were THE SAME
with
the prices of these foodstuff items
in
the
COMMERCIAL COSMOPOLITAN CITY
in
SOUTH-WEST(ERN) NIGERIA
( Lagos, Yoruba-land, Nigeria )
where
she resides as a function of the reality that
she is a top management staff of an international organization that sited
it’s operational offices in Nigeria in that location.
according to her,
this was not the case in the past
and
EEBOE-LAND NIGERIA
historically produced certain food stuff items
within it’s general locality
and as such
these food items
and
any linked derivatives
were always readily available
and
always cheaper in the villages
where the majority of the farm-lands were sited
and
usually generally cheaper in EEBOE-LAND
than in other locations.
according to her,
examples include(d)
■ CASSAVA
which was grown virtually by every household
in the villages
in their farms
and from which,
for example,
the SOUTHERN? NIGERIA food staple
GARRI
is derived
■ RICE
which she claimed was historically
produced in huge quantities
in
ABAKILIKI
( pronounced
AH-BA-KAE-LAE-KAE )
■ YAM
which she claimed was historically
a food staple
in EEBOE-LAND
.. a claim which
perhaps the late celebrated author CHINUA ACHEBE
( .. possibly
the greatest Negroland Africa writer/novelist of all time
– Nobel Prize for Literature
or
No Nobel Prize for Literature .. )
sort of inferred in his celebrated novel
THINGS FALL APART
where he writes about
the wrestler and warrior OKONKWO
and
mentions in a phrase that
“Yam is the King of Crops”
or
something along those lines.
